Following the first information drive for bioethanol workers last first quarter of 2018 in Isabela, the Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns set forth the conduct of information drive on Social Amelioration and Welfare Program (SAWP) for the Bioethanol Sector.

The activity starts on June 26 to 29, 2018 in Negros Occidental and Oriental, where bioethanol plants are mostly situated. Below is the schedule for the information drive:

The conduct of the said activity is in accordance with the guidance of the first Tripartite Consultative Council for the implementation of the SAWP for the Bioethanol Sector to cater more workers.

SAWP is a social amelioration scheme which aims to improve the socio-economic well-being of workers in the biofuel industry including their families, through augmentation of income and access to productive resources, social protection coverage, and provision of livelihood and employment opportunities.
